Truck EV Charging Network Costing 650 Dollar Million to be Built by Daimler Across the US

In a partnership with NextEra Energy and BlackRock Alternatives, Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will construct EV charging infrastructure for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles across the US.

The medium and heavy-duty battery powered electric and hydrogen-powered fuel cell truck public charging and fueling network will be designed, developed, installed, and operated by Daimler, NextEra, and BlackRock under the joint venture name Greenlane.

DTNA’s President and CEO, John O’Leary, stated:

“Greenlane is intended to start addressing infrastructure, one of the biggest barriers to the decarbonization of the trucking industry.”

Only with the crucial catalyst of widely accessible charging intended to fulfil the needs of medium- and heavy-duty trucks will the country’s fleets undergo transformation.

The joint venture’s initial location, worth more than $650 million, will be located in Southern California, and according to a statement from DTNA, numerous additional locations are also being bought across various freight routes on the East and West Coasts as well as in Texas.

With plans to gradually open up access to light-duty vehicles, Greenlane will initially concentrate on battery powered electric medium- and heavy-duty automobiles, followed by hydrogen filling stations for fuel cell trucks.

The first site’s revolutionary information, according to DTNA, would be “revealed soon.”
