For the First Time, Volkswagens new ID.7 Electric Saloon was Sighted in Germany Without Camouflage

Within the upcoming months, Volkswagen (VW) plans to introduce the ID.7, its latest electric sedan, in series production. Volkswagen teased an unique disguised edition earlier this year, but the ID.7 was spotted for the first car sans camouflage this week in Germany, giving us a better idea of what to anticipate.

The ID.7 electric sedan, which joins the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.6 (exclusive in China) together with the new ID. Buzz EV bus, is VW’s sixth entirely electric car.

VW asserts that the ID.7, the top model in the series, will take the ID series into the middle class’s strata of the large volume market, or premium luxury.

The car manufacturer introduced the ID. AERO in China last June. It is an electric saloon built on the MEB platform with a WLTP range of up to 700 km (434 miles) and improved aerodynamics. The aerodynamic shape and 700 km range of the concept, according to VW, were a glimpse of what to come in the global model.

Interior & Specs

With a new Display concept, an augmented reality head-up display, a 15-inch screen, new, conveniently accessible air conditioning controls incorporated into the infotainment system, and an illuminated touch slider, Volkswagen upped the ante on the interior driving experience.

Before you even get inside, the air conditioning system will start the clever vents to cool the inside on warm days and reheat it on cold ones whenever the driver is approaching. The Volkswagen ID.7 electric saloon had a special disguise with 40 paint layers when it was unveiled at CES, and the model was interactively lit up.

VWs Plan – One EV For Every Segment

While the carmaker strives to offer one in every category, Volkswagen’s new saloon is going to be among ten new EVs to be released by 2026 as well as the second worldwide EV vehicle after the ID.4.

The ID.7’s production version is scheduled to make its world premiere in the 2nd quarter of 2023, starting in China before moving on to the US and Europe.

In an effort to stave off competition from Tesla and other EV manufacturers, VW also introduced the ID 2all prototype earlier this month. It is a low-cost EV featuring 279 miles (450 km) of range and a starting price of about $27,000 (€25,000).
