Many Model Y Vehicles Are Being Recalled By Tesla Due To Unsecured Fasteners in The Seat Back Frames

A National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation claims that fasteners in the second-row seats of thousands of Tesla’s more recent Model Y vehicles may be loose.

According to the report, the second-row seat back frames of Model Y vehicles are subject to the recall because the bolts holding the frames in place might not be securely tightened. According to the NHTSA, this could decrease the performance of the seat belt system and raise the risk of injury in an accident.

Tesla claims it discovered the flaw in December and started doing risk analysis the following year.

Affected by Tesla Model Y:

3,470 Tesla Model Y 2022-2023 automobiles are being recalled. Beginning on April 25, mail-based notices of the recall are anticipated to be sent to affected owners.

Tesla claimed that it is not aware of any accidents or fatalities that might be connected to the problem.

What Owners of Tesla Cars Should Do:

Before April 25th, affected owners can check to see if their vehicle is included in the recall by calling Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. If the car is recalled, owners can bring it to a Tesla repair facility, which will check and tighten the bolts without charging them.

Tesla Model Y recall number two for the year:

This recall affects 2022-2023 Model Y vehicles for the second time in less than a month.

The Tesla Model Y 2020-2023 variants were among the 362,758 vehicles that were subject to a recall in February because the full self-driving beta software may make some vehicles “unsafe around junctions.” As the business announced it will provide a free over-the-air software update, the recall would necessitate a software upgrade.
