According to the report the latest safety feature is from china where Gigafactory Shanghai has given an extra feature of airbags in Model Y. The latest safety has optimized the airbags all around the passengers so that could prevent the front passengers from colliding with each other. Now if you will buy a new Tesla Model Y so it will come with the standard safety and an extra far-side airbag.
Recently Tesla has confirmed that China-made Model Y called Weibo will launch with the latest safety standards with “remote airbags”.
The company has also given an advertisement in which they show us a logo “Design with safety first!. Well here we must say that Tesla has taken intelligent steps in order to protect every customer, and the safety gene is always the same #ThisisTesla. The company has given a technical name to their airbags called “remote airbags”.
If we talk about the placement of the airbag so the additional side of the airbag is mounted inside the driver’s seat. The company was having a safety test which was measured by the Euro NCAP and according to the results, the airbags will reduce contact injuries between front occupants during a side crash. Not even this facility will reduce 25% of crash injuries in traffic accidents resulting from side crashes.
After a safety test, the NCAP gives 5/5 to the car and then declares Tesla Model Y the safest car in the world ever. This update will prevent the front seaters to crash with each other due to the substantial difference during side impact crashes. After the successfully upgrading of the side airbags in Tesla Model Y now China Gigafactory Shanghai is thinking of also upgrading this function in Model 3 soon. We could soon see an extra far-side airbag added to the made-in-China Model 3, whose production lines in Giga Shanghai were also recently upgraded.
Mr. Elon Musk has also committed that this upgrade will be helpful for the buyers and this update should be applied globally. Meanwhile, we may expect this feature in all models of Tesla globally in the future. We could also see this upgrade come to other Gigafactories globally.
