Tesla Update 2023.12 Has Several Minor Improvements – Are All of Them Known to You

Many new features and enhancements are included in Tesla’s 2023.12 software update, but some of the most intriguing changes are those that are not yet disclosed. The user experience is improved by these little, less well-known improvements, which also highlight Tesla’s dedication to ongoing innovation. We have identified ten unreported changes in the most recent build so far.

Emergency braking on demand

Improved Automatic Emergency Braking may now stop vehicles that are approaching perpendicularly and can operate at higher speeds of up to 124 mph (200 km/h). While moving backwards, it offers little support.

Backwards Camera

Tesla has made a small change to the reverse camera software; you may now reveal or conceal your repeater cameras by selecting a separate button in the top right corner. Swiping upward or downward on the reverse cam stream was previously needed to hide and reveal your repeater cameras.

Parked Illustration

Now you can change the viewing angle of the visualisation of the parked vehicle. Although there is no practical application for this one, it is entertaining to see every detail Tesla included in the visualisation.

Nav Enhancements

Each search result when you look for a destination now shows its distance from your present location. To emphasise that the pin is a separate button, Tesla also gave it a button-like appearance. While pressing the pin will display more information about the location, including reviews, a phone number, and images, tapping the name will take you directly to the location.

Rename the vehicle in the app

Direct vehicle renaming is now possible for owners via the Tesla app. Just tap the existing name, type in the new one, then click “OK.”

Font of a speedometer

The speedometer’s lettering is slightly heavier, making it easier to see at a glance.

Wiper Speed Modification

Wiper speed can be changed by drivers without ever touching the touchscreen. You must press the button located at the left stalk’s tip on a Model 3 or Y. Once the windscreen has been cleaned, the wiper controls will appear on the screen. The different wiper speeds can then be changed by tilting the left scroll wheel on the steering wheel.

Suspension by air

Users can toggle the on/off of height and speed alterations at a specific spot, giving them additional control over their air suspension settings.

Favourite songs

For favourite songs, a plus sign (+) emblem has taken the place of the heart. Despite having the same functionality, Tesla believed that a + symbol worked better across all music services for some reason.

Theatre Icons by Tesla

Instead of using horizontal logos, the Tesla Theatre symbols have changed to square, app-like icons, which also seem to correspond with the WeChat applications Tesla produced in China. Could there be a deeper meaning here?

Device Drawer

All of the options are now shown when you hit the ellipsis within the launcher to enter the app drawer. For convenience, a Customise button also appears at the top.

New Charging Screen

A redesign has also been made to the charging menu under Controls > Charging. The battery slider is now considerably bigger and simpler to operate because the unnecessary car visualisation has been removed. Additionally, it is significantly more dynamic than in earlier iterations.

Latest Labels

Tesla is beginning to add ‘New’ labels for every new option or function, which you’ve probably already noticed. In order to make customers more apprised of any changes, Tesla is likely to continue to add such labels in next updates.

Since the 2022 Holiday upgrade, the Tesla 2023.12 upgrade has been the biggest and most exciting. With this update, you may use the steering wheel to answer calls and change common settings like the acceleration mode and the HVAC fan speed without ever touching the screen.

It also includes a feature that has been wanted for quite some time: the ability to alter the size of text on the display.

Tesla has improved its users’ driving experiences with the 2023.12 update.
