A New Electric Bus with IOT Capabilities is Available for Trips to Tirupati

Later this month, the business will also start offering services on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route.

On Sunday, the Bengaluru-Tirupati route saw the introduction of the first fleet of electrically powered buses operated by Fresh Bus, an interurban EV bus service. The base fare for each seat would be Rs 399.

Later this month, the business will also start operating on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada route, and soon both routes will be served by a total of 24 buses. Every bus is a 12-meter luxury coach that can accommodate more than 45 passengers. These buses have a top speed of 90 km/h and can go 400 km on a single charge after two hours of charging from zero to one hundred percent.

Fresh Bus buses come with a variety of features, including fully soundproofed air conditioning, plush seats, real-time indoor air quality and temperature assessment enabled by IOT, regenerative braking, surveillance CCTV, amenity packs, personal charging stations, WiFi, and real-time monitoring.

Regular education for the driving crew will be conducted, as well as drug and alcohol testing. Using the Fresh Bus app and its customer support centre, the e-bus services will also offer travellers real-time assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, the buses will contain fire extinguishers and medical kits, as well as pink seats for female passengers.

The company’s creator, Sudhakar Reddy Chirra, declared that Fresh Bus would put a special emphasis on high quality and the customer experience to upgrade the bus travel experience for everyone. In the following phase, he continued, the company would begin offering operations on travel routes to and from Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Pune, and other places.

He claimed that by the end of 2026, “we estimate ramping up to well over 1,000 electric buses, establishing over a hundred charging facilities across India, and rescuing over 4000 hectare of forest.” The occasion was attended by Aloke Bajpai, co-founder and group CEO of ixigo, and Dr. Laavu Rathaiah, chairman of the Vignan Group.

The ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ Mission

The Fresh Bus team received greetings from Nitin Gadkari, India’s Minister of Road Transport and Highways, on the launch and for their contribution to Atmanirbhar Bharat’s mission.

He referred to electric cars as the “future of transportation” and claimed that Fresh Bus would usher in an economical and environmentally friendly new era of transportation. This will help the electric vehicle industry and give young tech professionals jobs. This demonstrates that sustainable development can be achieved while fostering economic growth, he said.
