The charging and transaction processes can be finished by the robot in a single transaction, according to China-based NaaS.

EV owners can request the charging robot with a single click, and it will then search for their vehicle. It accurately parks itself, use a mechanical arm to autonomously dock into an EV’s charging port, charge the vehicle, and then undock. It can then go to another EV or turn around and go back to its very own charging station to refuel.

According to NaaS, its settings for charging speed and battery capacity are flexible, and it can interface with significant OEMs via an open API.

Currently, the EV charging bot can communicate with an EV’s system using its core API interface. According to NaaS, if the EV’s battery is running low, the robot will start an autonomous vehicle search and go in search of a vehicle to charge it.

By the end of December 2022, NaaS, the very first Chinese Electric vehicle charging services company to be floated on Nasdaq (NAAS), had installed well over 515,000 EV chargers.

E Auto Arena’s Opinion

The commercial deployment plan, the timing, the location, and the price of this robot are some important facts that are absent from this announcement. Is this really a test version? We lack specifications as well.

But if it does function as NaaS promises, it’s a fantastic concept, and we’d want to see such a robot roaming carparks in the not too distant future.

When we initially came across this robot, the word “airport” immediately came to us as a potential use. We’d be delighted to ask this robot to charge our automobile while we left it parked at an airport for several days with the assurance that we would arrive to a fully charged battery.

Because it currently seems quite impolite to keep your EV connected into Level 2 chargers at airports for longer than necessary, preventing others from using them. Who makes an hour-long use of a Level 2 charger in an airport? Thus, the current charging capacity is quite inadequate.

We were drawn to this cutting-edge EV charging robot because it offers a service that we require. We sincerely hope it comes true.
