See How the 476 HP Polestar 2 BST Edition 230, Polestar Most Recent Testament to EV Performance, Operates

The electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar is continuing its limited production Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 model from last year with a newer car that places a stronger emphasis on performance design. The Polestar 2 BST 230 introduces brand-new innovations, both inside and out, about which you can read more below.

The 2 sedan, which made its debut three years ago as a 2021 model and has since grown in popularity, topping 100,000 total overall sales in late 2022, serves as the starting point of Polestar’s Future adventure into performance EVs. The 2024 model of the 2 was introduced by Polestar this past January, and since then, we’ve had the chance to test drive a number of different iterations, including the 2023 Dual Motor and the Long Range Single Motor (FWD) model.

The EV automaker has a tonne of performance-oriented versions in the works for the expanding number of incoming vehicles joining its pipeline, potentially in its latest model, the Polestar 3 SUV, given the early and swift popularity of the BST 270. That has not yet been confirmed, but as of this morning, an improved model of its electric vehicle, known as the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230, has been. Look into it.

Only 230 of Polestar’s most recent 2 BST Edition EVs will be produced.

Polestar plans to “drop” a second, limited-edition Polestar 2 later this year, but with an even more limited production run of just 230 pieces. Several of the performance enhancements introduced in the BST 270 will also be included in the Polestar 2 BST 230, but with even more distinctive interior and exterior features. CEO of Polestar Thomas Ingenlath says:

“Limited releases like the BST edition 230 let us experiment with colours, graphics, and materials more quickly and ingeniously. Our capacity to design distinctive, limited editions based on the newest trends offers our customers a level of exclusivity and customization typically reserved for supercars, as we’ve seen with the success of the BST edition 270 before. We will strive to provide our clients with this.”

By providing exclusive, limited-runs of specially crafted performance EVs, Polestar seems to be onto something, and the Polestar 2s are just the beginning. What can we anticipate from the BST Edition 230?

A front strut-tower brace that increases the stiffness of the front suspension mounts during racetrack driving while retaining steering accuracy and feel under the harshest dynamic conditions will be included in the newest performance Polestar 2 BST Edition. These modifications were also included in the limited-edition debut of last year. It will include updated “BST” tuning in addition to all the bells and whistles from each of Polestar’s existing add-ons, along with the Plus, Pilot, and Performance Packs.

From a tuning standpoint, it will also be quite a drop from the base Polestar 2 because it will sit a whole inch (25 mm) lower. Also, those fortunate 230 buyers will be able to enjoy dual flow valve (DFV) dampers from hlins that are two-way adjustable and come with an external reservoir, a front strut bar, 20% stiffer springs, and black 21-inch alloy wheels that accommodate Pirelli P Zero tyres.
Similar performance figures as the Polestar BST Edition 270 can be found here: 476 horsepower, 502 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds. Yet it will debut as the first electric vehicle (EV) with Polestar’s unique Green Nebula exterior paint (seen above). The new Polestar 2 is going to be the inaugural vehicle with brand-new MicroSuede materials derived from recycled Nubuck in its interior. Buyers can also select an optional racing stripe and a “Space” black exterior.

The 230 intended Polestar 2 BST Edition units will be made for Europe and North America and will be available via the automaker’s website on a first come, first serve basis. At some point soon, you will have the option to customise your very own limited edition Polestar 2 for a beginning MSRP of $79,500 (excluding $1,400 destination fees). Deliveries should start in the third quarter of current year.
