JUST IN! Tesla offers $30 monthly unlimited overnight charging

Tesla said that as part of its “Tesla Electric” energy retailing business, it will shortly introduce a new plan for unlimited overnight charging for $30 per month.

After accumulating expertise through its virtual power plants (VPPs), Tesla advanced things with the introduction of “Tesla Electric” late last year.

Energy Retailer Company

Tesla Electric is actively and automatically buying and selling electricity for Tesla Powerwall owners, acting as a buffer against peak prices, as opposed to responding to specific “events” and providing services to your local electric utilities, as Tesla Powerwall owners have done in VPPs in California.

In essence, the corporation is evolving into an energy retailer. Texas Powerwall owners are the only ones who may presently purchase Tesla Electric, but the company intends to expand the product line through this new branch.

At its Investor Day, Tesla unveiled the first new item under the “Tesla Electric” brand. The new unlimited overnight home charging service will be offered by Tesla for $30 per month, according to senior vice president of engineering Drew Baglino.

This is not going to be restricted to Tesla Powerwall owners, unlike the present Tesla Electric scheme.

Drew Said:

“We want to offer retail electricity plans with unlimited overnight home charging for $30 per month to those who own our cars by the end of this summer. This contributes to lowering the overall cost of ownership of our cars, and we can do it because Texas gets a lot of wind. Moreover, the wind blows at night in Texas.”

Low-Cost overnight Charging

$30 a month will save you a lot of money if charging at night is an option for you and you drive a lot. By its connections with electric utilities, which, as Baglino noted, have a surplus of electricity at night due to decreased demand and strong wind power, Tesla is able to afford to do this.

Drivers would be encouraged to charge at night if the cost were so cheap, which would ease the burden of charging electric vehicles during the day. In Texas, the plan will go on sale in July, according to Tesla, who also hinted at other Tesla Electric products.
