The standard-range AWD Tesla Model Y is back

After a brief hiatus, the AWD Model Y’s Standard Range is back. Tesla has quietly reintroduced the model, which has a starting price of $64,000 and only 40 of them are currently in stock in the United States.

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, Twitter, and a few other businesses, had previously stated that the Model Y would be the most popular vehicle in the world. Although we are still waiting for that to occur, it must be noted that the vehicle is selling fairly well and is unquestionably at the top of the electric car sales market.

The “new” Tesla Model Y Standard Range was first picked up by Twitter user The Kilowatts. It has 269 miles of range and 4680 battery cells. It is listed for $63,990, which is about $2,000 less than the Long Range version, which can travel 330 miles, up until last week.

The Model Y Long Range now costs $52,990, and even the Performance model costs $56,990, thanks to Tesla’s most recent sweeping price cuts.

It’s surprising and difficult to distinguish Tesla’s move. The Model Y is now eligible for the 2023 EV tax credit for the first time thanks to the company’s recent price reductions.

The new, structural 4680 battery cells can now be produced in sufficient quantities by Tesla, which has increased the Model Y’s weekly production capacity to more than 1,000 vehicles. The company intends for all of its models to eventually be powered by the new cells, but that won’t happen immediately.
