  • Based on ‘Architecture of Luxury’ that also underpins the current Phantom.
  • Debuts Rolls Royce’s new Spirit digital software platform.
  • Deliveries are to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Rolls Royce Spectre: design

The Spectre has a very similar Rolls-Royce shape that includes a long bonnet, and a clear and clean profile. Whereas these give us a hint to draw to the brand’s existing models, at the same time Rolls Royce gets huge inspiration from modern yacht concepts. It measures 5.45 metres in length and approx near 2 meters in width. Notably, the Spectre is even larger than the four-door Mercedes EQS.

The front look of the spectre consists of a wider grille for better aerodynamics. It also gets 22 LEDs for soft illumination at night. It differentiates itself from the typical upright nose of the Rolls Royce, while its bonnet swoops down to the grille.

Also, the split headlamps give it a touch of the Phantom Coupe. Fitted with Ultra slim LED DRLs are highly mounted. As mentioned, it is inspired by a yacht, which is characterised by three distinct lines. It includes the gently sloping, a prominent shoulder line and one at the base namely the ‘waft line’ respectively.

Rolls Royce Spectre: interior

Its look is also very much similar to the existing Rolls Royce model in terms of the interior also. To be more specific then it is very similar to the current Ghost. The only noticeable difference is that the starlight liner that earlier comes on the roof only now is also incorporated in the door pads as well.

Its uniqueness lies in the dashboard panel on the passenger side, which is illuminated with the Spectre nameplate. It is also surrounded by a cluster of over 5,500 star-like illuminations. Other factors include new seats, exquisite stitching, embroidery, and intricate piping.

One of the biggest discussion points about the Spectre’s interior. However, is Rolls-Royce’s new software platform – the ‘Spirit’. Notably, it had been using BWM-derived infotainment software. Additionally, the Spirit is importantly the new digital interface with connected car technology that controls all functions of the car respectively.

Rolls Royce Spectre: powertrain and platform

Moreover, the Spectre is primarily based on Rolls Royce’s all-aluminium spaceframe architecture, called the Architecture of Luxury. On the other hand, this platform also underpins the current Phantom, Cullinan, and Ghost. Aso, it was designed with electrification in mind right from the beginning, way back in 2003. Additionally, the Spectre is claimed to be 30 per cent stiffer compared to the earlier Rolls-Royce. It also features active suspension and four-wheel steering.
