EU needs to up electric vehicle support to fend off Chinese competition

An electric vehicle (EV) is a mode of transport that is powered by electricity. Unlike conventional vehicles that use gasoline (petrol) or diesel-powered engine, electric cars and trucks use an electric motor powered by electricity from batteries or a fuel cell.

European transport & environment:

According to the study by climate group transport & environment the European Union wants to offer more official increments for its carmakers to increase entire electric vehicle (EV) production or chance for lost market share to Chinese rivals.

In the T&E:

In the T&E report ‘From boom to brake: is the e-mobility transformation stalling?’ launched on Monday, the group said that EV sales increment in the bloc had decelerated, through entire-electric cars creating up 11% of sales in the first half of 2022 when historical trend advised they should have arrived 13%.

Chinese car makers:

In this crucial time , the Chinese car creators adding BYD (002594.SZ) and Great Wall Motor (601633.SS) are glancing to receive a foothold in the EU and have currently got high safety reviews and ratings for their EVs.

EVs:

T&E approximate Chinese-made EVs accounted for 5% of complete-electric car sales in the EU in the first half of this year and could have an 18% share of the market by 2025.

The EU is recently working out a suggested package of climate approach, which adds an impactful ban on the sale of new fossil-fuel vehicles from 2035.

Cars:
