BMW will develop its own next-gen voice assistant based on Alexa

The German automaker BMW reportedly announced that it will make its own voice assistant. They are about to bring convenience similar to Alexa for its consumers with its next-generation voice assistant. Notably, they started offering Alexa in their cars in 2018. And now, the time comes when BMW builds its own voice assistant by utilising the same technology. And here they go, as BMW announced that they using Amazon’s Alexa technology in order to create its own voice assistant.

According to the company’s Senior Vice-President ‘Per Stephan Durach, Connected Company and Development Technical Operations BMW Group.

As per him, the move will bring digital experience to the next level. Alexa will “enable an even more natural dialogue between driver and vehicle, so drivers can stay focused on the road.”

The above statement indicates that this new voice assistant in BMW is based on Amazon’s Alexa. Noticeably, Amazon disclose the service late in 2021 for licensing Alexa to other companies.

The announcement is made by BMW during the launch of Amazon’s device event. As they introduced the next generation of Echo Dot and Echo Auto respectively. The devices have their own features and functionality. The device will bring the next-level convenience of Alexa to every corner of the home and in the car as well. To be noted, Echo Auto offers new functionality including a new slimmer design and a new adhesive mount for providing new capabilities of more placement flexibility in your car.

However, talking about the new assistant service by BMW then both the companies don’t share many things about it. But it seems that BMW will succeed to create its own unique name to summon it. As they disclose that the first vehicle powered by a new generation BMW assistant will launch in two years now.
