In the most recent OTA update, Lucid finally makes Apple CarPlay default on all of its EVs

All 4 of the original trims of Lucid Motors’ flagship Air saloon are currently being delivered, as announced when the ultra-long-range EV launched its initial premiere a couple of years ago. We’ve had an opportunity to see inside and out of a few of those models, but we’ve been curious about the arrival of Apple CarPlay, which has been promised. Lucid has now officially announced that CarPlay will be a standard feature going forward.

The Grand Touring Performance, the Touring, and most recently the Dream Edition Air saloon from Lucid have all been tested by us so far. None have let me down. We are looking forward to that driving chance, along with the tri-motor Sapphire of course, as the most cheap Air Pure cars are the ones that will be delivered to reservation holders next.

There’s a lot to love about the Lucid Air, as we’ve mentioned. Several of the parts within the Lucid Air are simple to marvel at, from its 500+ mile range to its incredibly efficient propulsion and unique Wunderbox charging method. Each time You get behind the wheel of a luxury sedan, regardless of trim level, we continue to notice new features that are packed with top-notch design touches.

Since the US EV automaker has ironed out a number of early software faults over-the-air, Lucid’s own UX has so far been more than competent and has improved with time.

As we become more accustomed to our phones and their operating systems, the possibility of accessing your iPhone’s apps through a car’s head unit has proven to be extremely helpful, whether it be for quicker access to Spotify’s most recent Taylor Swift playlist or Google Maps.

In the tweet shown above, Lucid declared that CarPlay connectivity would become a standard feature. Current Lucid Air customers will be able to use Apple CarPlay features according to the automaker’s most recent OTA update, bringing up a new world of easily accessible apps directly from the EV’s own Class Cockpit display.

According to Lucid, its EVs will start receiving the newest software upgrade in the coming week, and going forward, Air cars that are produced will also have it installed. Enjoy and keep a watch out for that update!
