Hero Motocorp and Zero Bikes Collaborate On High-End Electric Motorcycles

The collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and US-based luxury electric motorbike and powertrain manufacturer Zero Motorcycles to create premium electric motorcycles was announced on Monday. The collaboration takes place at a time when the domestic two-wheeler producer is making huge bets on premium goods and electric motorcycles. Hero MotoCorp has long had aspirations to dominate the premium market, and with the rise of electric vehicles, it now has its sights set on the market for high-end electric motorcycles.

According to the official release from Hero MotoCorp, this partnership will bring together the scale of production, sourcing, and marketing capabilities of the Indian corporation with the expertise of Zero in designing powertrains and electric motorcycles. Once Hero MotoCorp invested $60 million in Zero Motorcycles in September 2022, this relationship was initiated. Via its extensive dealer network, Hero could sell Zero Bikes in India, and the American company could produce its goods locally in India, according to this agreement.

CEO’s Vision

Pawan Munjal, chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, spoke about this partnership’s efforts to usher in a new era of environmentally friendly, sustainable transportation. “An important step on our path to bringing in an era of renewable cleaner fuels in the mobility industry is our relationship with Zero Motorcycles. We anticipate accelerating the switch to electric transportation in India and throughout all of our international markets with Zero as our partner “added Munjal.

According to Sam Paschel, CEO of Zero Motorcycles, both businesses are dedicated to revolutionising the riding experience and introducing ground-breaking goods around the globe. “With these combined interests, we look forward to offering excellent value, performance and pleasure for our clients,” he said.

Despite the announcement of the agreement, none of the two firms have given any details regarding their product strategy. It’s interesting to note that Hero MotoCorp had recently introduced the Vida V1, a high-end electric two-wheeler that marked the company’s entry into the electric vehicle market.
