latest version of FSD Beta V10.12 of Tesla measured by Foreign media(Hurdles allots)

Tesla FSD Beta

Tesla FSD Beta

As we know that Tesla was in the sources for some days when the company announced the testing of its latest version of FSD Beta V10.12. Recently the news become so viral when some sources post a video on Twitter in which the reporter was driving the latest version of FSD Beta V10.12 of Tesla. In the starting when I saw the video I literally thought that he will have so much fun while driving but there was something else that was quite surprising.

So the video was posted by the Electrek reporter of foreign media called Fred Lambert. The reporter tested Tesla FSD Beta V10.12 in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. So before saying any single words let me show the video first then I don’t think that there is any need to say something to anyone that how was the experience by the way.

Video of reporter:

So as you can see how much the reporter survive while he was testing the Tesla car such as this version of the FSD had multiple ” ghost brakes,” where the vehicle slowed down suddenly and unnecessarily and even nearly drove the car toward a cliff. Most of the time Fred was already in order to take over but in this test driving, it was very shocking that it was just a single time when Fred take over and that is when Tesla FSD Beta V10.12 drove the car to the cliff.

According to Fred, the overall test driving was 13 minutes and the performance of the Tesla FSD beta V10.12 was not that bad actually. But during the driving he was experiencing so many ghost brakes” and wrong judgments are still scary, “ghost brakes” etc. issues are still to be resolved. If we discuss the overall experience briefly so it will be like this:-

1. As according to Fred the performance of the low-speed roads is better. It was not so high and not so slow. The main reason for choosing the Blue Ridge Mountains is there are signs and the road areas are clearly marked and have few interactions also. In this kind of environment, Tesla’s FSD beta V10.12 will be able to run properly and perform well. It’s also true that the computer vision inspection system on FSD Beta V10.12 worked well for most of the testing, with Fred’s Model 3 always staying centered in the lane.

▲ The path planned by FSD

Tesla FSD Beta V10.12 is good enough to detect the people and automatically able to slow down the speed when needed. Even when it needed to turn left or planned to turn left to give the way to pedestrians so it could be managed by itself. In short, we can say that this is an advantage of this version by the way.

2. Sudden brakes are still high, and the turning speed is too fast. As Fred said that the Tesla Beta V10.12 needed some improvement in such cases like the car Model was giving sudden brakes with 0 reasons. Sometimes the vehicle slows down suddenly when there is no necessary.

As you can see in the video that the sudden ghost breaks were happening rapidly during the drive. Although Fred felt the “ghost brakes” did not slow down as much as the sudden deceleration, what will be the reason behind this? I think that was just because when the car was bid slowly then it takes sudden breaks to function the slow drive functions. In addition, Fred also noticed that the Tesla FSD Beta V10.12 version also has some inconsistencies in controlling the speed of the vehicle when turning. It can be seen in the video that Tesla’s FSD slows down the vehicle in some turns that don’t seem to need to slow down, and then controls the vehicle to turn sharply at the maximum set speed.

▲ FSD controls the vehicle to turn

If we talk about the takeover so that was horrifying when we saw it. Actually, on 13-minute testing, Fred drives 8 miles and in that 13 minutes the 12 minutes were ok Tesla Beta V10.12 was caught every single turn sharply and controlled it nicely but in the last 1 minute then there was a sharp turn, and the car was turned in this way that almost threw Fred’s cliff on the side of the road. Fred slammed on the brakes as soon as he noticed the car was going across the dual carriageway and headed straight to the other side of the road. It was a terrifying moment.

▲ Tesla FSD almost threw the owner off a cliff after a sharp turn

If you think that things stop here so they didn’t. The Tesla FSD Beta V10.12 need to understand that all roads are not the same there are some roads that have sharp turns and need to slow down the vehicles. As it was running on 10 mph which is very slower than the set speed but don’t know why it didn’t visualize the turn correctly. Not even this, as you can see from the predicted path (blue line) displayed on the in-vehicle screen, FSD Beta V10.12 had a hard time predicting how sharp the turn was.

Results:- So after watching the friend’s video, the first thing that comes to mind is that Tesla FSD Beta V10.12 is giving the most horrifying experience of driving After this test video this car needs so many improvements. Although this version has a great improvement in part of the straight road and vehicle recognition, the problems in “ghost braking” and automatic cornering still need to be solved.

Safety ratings
If we talking about safety so, there is 0 safety and ghost breaks can be the causes of harsh accidents and they still need to maintain a high degree of vigilance and be ready to take over at any time to ensure driving safety. If I need to give a rating to this test deriving for the safety purpose so I will give 1 start out of 5 stars.
